Just recently viewed your show when you were fishing in Central Park. Kudos to you Mike for taking a trash bag with you and actually showing the removal of the trash that someone else made. Also the fact that you genuinely did not seem that upset about catching a perch, a pickerel, and a small bass. It was all about the adventure and comoraderie and that was great. Haven't been watching your show too long at this time, but from what was just personally witnessed you have a viewer in Pennsylvania. Again, kudos to you sir and thank you for a renewed confidence in human nature. Keep up the good work Mike.

thank you Ray! i always enjoy when viewers appreciate the show
we try hard to emphasize the good nature in fishing: how it brings people together and lets you enjoy nature... and a big part of that is being responsible, cleaning up after yourself and just having a good time... i'm glad those ideas resonate with you.... thanks a lot for the message! |

LIbass,
If you ever have a desire to get involved as a volunteer in projects like that or other fishing related events held on Long Island, please feel free to contact me. I can put you in touch with the Region 1 director of the NYS DEC Dept of Freshwater Fisheries, and get you signed up to help. Each year, the DEC also does several free fishing {clinics} festivals at several of the NY State parks, such as Belmont Lake, Lake Ronkonkoma, and Hempstead Lake. The smiles on the kids' faces, and on the parents that brought them also, brings me back to them year after year to volunteer in the rod-rigging booth there, and also doing other duties those days, as well, such as unhooking the fish for them often. The DEC brings in tons of loaner rods for the kids to use that day, and supply them with the riggings and worms, too. The DEC relies heavily upon the public volunteer help at events like those mentioned.

Mike’s show is unlike any other show out there and that’s what I love about it. It’s laid back and well done and it highlights the fellowship and the relationships you make rather than just who caught the biggest or the most bass. That’s what I like about it so much because there is always a story….always an adventure to be had whether you load the boat with them or you zero!
Lunkerville is number 1 in my book!

While we're at it ...I also enjoyed the reservoir show with the chained boats and the way everyone brings a plastic bag to clean the area on their way out ....have since started to carry my own plastic bag...it's a "feel good thing"...nice job Mike...
