Lunkerville is a weekly, half-hour fishing program airing on the Sportsman Channel. Award-winning filmmaker and avid angler Mike de Avila travels from town to town uncovering the secrets and rituals of bass fishermen. In Lunkerville, everyone's a pro with each episode featuring a different local character reeling in big bass at their favorite honey-hole. Unlike most fishing shows, Lunkerville examines the time-tested techniques and secret spots favored by these home-grown experts. Finally, a fishing show with real people... and real fish stories! Lunkerville recently received 3 Sportsman Channel Awards in 2004 including Viewer Favorite Fishing Show, Viewer Favorite Host and Best Freshwater Fishing Episode. |

Rockville Pictures is a full-service film and video production company based in New York City. The company is active in the production of film, television and industrial programs and won a National Emmy Award in 2001 for it's Thinkport campaign for Maryland Public Television. Host and Co-Producer Mike de Avila is a graduate of the Purchase College Film Program and his movie Burnzy's Last Call won Best Dramatic Feature honors at the 1998 Atlantic City Film Festival. Lunkerville is a culmination of Mikes two passions in life: fishing and filmmaking. He is co-owner of Rockville Pictures and also the co-owner and webmaster of the most popular bass-fishing website in New York, www.nybass.com. After 2 successful seasons fishing club tournaments in the New York area, Mike now fishes competitively on the Wal-Mart BFL tour. You can see how Mike is doing on the tour by clicking here. Co-Producer Shannon Goldman is also a graduate of the film program at Purchase College and started Rockville Pictures with Mr. de Avila soon after college. Mr.Goldman co-authored the experimental feature Lost Prophet, directed by Michael de Avila, and has produced 5 feature-length films including Burnzys Last Call starring Sherry Stringfield, Ash Tuesday starring Janeane Garofalo and Noise starring Alley Sheedy. Kingdom Come is Mr. Goldmans feature film directorial debut. Videographer and Editor Porter McDonald has been a part of Lunkerville since its conception and has seen it blossom into an award-winning, nationally broadcast television show. He brings to it a photographer's eye and writer's passion for sniffing out a good story. In addition to shooting and editing Lunkerville, Porter is also an avid comics writer. His work can be seen in Western Tales of Terror (www.WesternTalesofTerror.com) and in his weekly webcomic, CowPunch (www.CowPunch.com). Porter also authors the animated series of shorts, "Skunked", for Lunkerville. |

The Sportsman Channel is a national outdoor television network dedicated to 100% hunting and fishing programs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Launched in early 2003, the network is available on cable systems across the country; reaching more than 13 million homes and growing. Of all channels launched with The Sportsman Channel (TSC) in 2003, TSC ranks number one as the most most-carried cable network according to a recent survey by Independent Cable News. Additionally, according to this same survey of 126 channels, TSC ranks 20th as the most desired channel to add by National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) members.
