Default Lathem Reservoir and Local Pond

My 8 yr old nephew, my dad and I went out this weekend. We started out at Lathem Reservoir. Beautiful day - around 70* with just a few sprinkles. We got skunked at Lathem after a few hours, so we headed to a local pond. We caught a few there. Here is my nephew with a nice 1.5lber.

I looked over and he was all squatted down saying "Man, this one's fightin' hard!" He's an awesome kid.

I caught this one with a 7" red Zoom lizard. I was just messing with it in like 6" of water near the shore, twitching it, then watching it fall. This guy kept checking it out, then I saw him take it and swim away. BAM! I set it hard. Not a cow, but it's always more fun when you see the fish hit it.
