The internationally syndicated television show South Bend’s Lunkerville is ready with a brand new season of “real people with real fish stories” and a brand new broadcast partner in 2017. Joining its current 52-week broadcast lineup is CBS Sports Network

South Bend’s Lunkerville has aired on television every week for the past thirteen years. CBS Sports brings a new distribution channel with a very focused viewership and its addition as a broadcast partner brings the series’ combined household reach to 191 million homes.

Beginning January, 2017, South Bend’s Lunkerville will be part of the launch lineup of new outdoor programming on CBS Sports Network, airing twice weekly: once, during the coveted Saturday morning fishing block, and a re-air during the week in the afternoon. “We’re excited to present South Bend’s Lunkerville to our audience of sports fans and outdoor enthusiasts.” says Greg Trager, Vice President of Programming at CBS Sports Network. “Its unique approach lets regular folks star in their own TV show and host Mike D’s easy-going personality brings it all home to viewers.”

“Airing on CBS Sports Network continues our strategy of reaching a wider audience on the most prestigious networks in North America.” says Michael de Avila (aka, Mike D), Lunkerville’s creator, host and co-producer. “Our mission has always been to entertain and inform fishing enthusiasts but we also want to show people who have never fished, just how easy, fun and affordable the sport is. Today, more than ever, it’s important for adults as well as children to unplug from their devices and spend time outdoors with friends, family or even just yourself.”

About South Bend’s Lunkerville
When Indie film director Michael de Avila hooked his passion for story telling onto his love of fishing, he spawned an award-winning reality television show, “Lunkerville”. For over 12 years, host ‘Mike D’ has been casting his line at everyday, recreational anglers, traveling to their secret spots, sharing their special techniques and making them the expert stars of the day. In his signature laid-back manner, he reels in the camaraderie, the fun and the fish. There’s never a dull moment on South Bend’s Lunkerville: the show that features real people and real fish stories. South Bend’s Lunkerville is a production of Rockville Pictures Inc.
